Rain

This is a picture from last week of our first rainstorm in Texas. The rain only lasted about ten minuets but it thundered all day. It has been raining since about 4 pm yesterday, sometimes heavy and sometimes just a sprinkle. We think it's fun to watch. The thunderclaps can get so loud! Louder than I've ever experienced.

Fun and Games

Pretty feet
And this is my friend Steve the monkey

You look good Ryker, pay no attention to the disaster behind him.

What, star wars?

sharing popcorn

talking on the phone

making cupcakes from scratch

our starship fort

come on mommy, in!

Most of the time we hang out at home (one car right now) it's really hot outside so after about 8:30am we stay inside. We keep busy, building forts, playing Lego's, baking yummy treats, watching movies, playing games, dancing to music, whatever strikes our fancy. Right now Star Wars is really big in our house, we build pod racers and star ships with Lego's, we watch the animated Clone Wars and basically live the life of a Jedi (as determined by a four year old). We just rented and watched Star Wars episode one, Canon loved it. I was worried that it would be too over his head but he already knew all about it from Lego Star Wars on the Wii. I wonder how long this phase will last, I know a lot of adults haven't grown out of it so who knows.

So Proud

I know graduation was in May, but I just started blogging so oh well. I am so proud of you Travis for all that you have accomplished. We are at a new beginning and I am so excited for your future success. Way to go on landing an awesome job within a week of graduation! I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father for all of our many blessings.

one more bunny

We have brown bunnies that hop all over the neighborhood all the time. One day while eating lunch Ryker pointed out this bigger white bunny across the street "look mommy, white bunny" I thought he was confused on his colors and asked do you mean brown bunny, he said "no white"
I looked and was surprised to see this large white rabbit, Travis and I had just watched the new Alice in Wonderland two nights before, kinda funny. We thought that this one might be a pet that got loose, but it was hanging out in our backyard the next day. Ryker watched the white bunny in the backyard most of the day he was very insistent that I needed to sit and watch it all day too. So I gave him the camera. We haven't seen this one again maybe he went home or found Alice.

Dallas Museum of Science

Ryker collecting eggs on the farm.
This was a giant sneezing nose. The kids hated it, it sneezed randomly kind of loud. Travis teased them by trying to clean out this nose so it would stop, gross get a tissue daddy!

Canon's favorite...Crystals! This kid loves rocks.

We bought a membership to this museum because the kids loved it, and their is also a planetarium and i-max theater that we haven't checked out yet. They have a huge children's area with a mini farm and town that has everything children's size. the whole museum is hands on so it's all really kid friendly. Canon really liked digging in the sand for dinosaur bones, but he loved the hall of minerals in the nature building. Ryker had a blast running all over the place trying everything out, he talks about our trips to the museum a lot. We have gone twice now and I am excited to go to the one in Fort Worth next week it's brand new and should be a lot of fun.

outside time

Since my children like to wake up early, we have decided that we would play outside before breakfast everyday. It is mid-eighty's by 7:30am so we go for a walk, have a water gun fight, play side walk chalk, have a Popsicle and chase bunnies all before breakfast.

Dallas Fair Park Lagoon

This lagoon is outside of the Dallas Museum of Science and Nature. It was really cool to see all the plants and animals that live in it. We saw fish, and turtles and tadpoles. Through and around it is this path that is really many paths some leading nowhere and some that turned into sculpture.

Rosemead Rainforest

We took the kids to the pool to play, cause it's hot. It was a lot of fun Canon loved the water slides. He climbed the stairs and went down the slide all by himself at least a dozen times, he couldn't get enough. Ryker wanted to go on the big one too, but we only let him on the smaller one with daddy. This aquatic park also had a 200ft lazy river and a huge dunk bucket that they really had fun with too.

Congrats Holly And Terrence

I have a new Nephew! Xavier was born yesterday at about noon, he was almost 8 lbs and Holly went natural. Way to go Holly! I love the picture of the three brothers, very cute.

Addison Circle Park

We went to the Circle park in Addison with some friends to cool off, for free! I am worried that the kids will think every fountain out here (and there are a lot) are here for them to swim in.

Silver linings

We left Utah at 6 am May 26th and arived in Dallas at 5 pm May 27th. I think we made pretty good time. I was very pleasently surprised at how well the ride went for me and the kids, no complaining no fighting no napping but no regrets either! Canon was awesome always helpful and sweet the only thing he did the whole trip minus the few hours in the night that he slept was to play with his Lego's. He Loves Lego's and I do too after entertaining a four year old 1300 miles non-stop! Ryker enjoyed movies and music and the aqua doodle and books and snacks and so on....he did better than any two year old could be expected no naps but not cranky so oh well. Kenna did great too, she is such a good baby so patient and happy. We stopped whenever she needed a bottle and diaper change and back on the road we went I wonder if she could see the DVD player through the mirror that I used to keep an eye on her, well whatever it was she was a happy girl. The drive went by quickly and we went threw some rain and some hail storms but all in all not bad. I listened to the book Inkheart for most of the drive which made the time go by quickly. Travis drove the U-Haul and listened to books on tape too. He says the truck wasn't the easiest to drive through the winds and rain etc and first gear went out but we made it!
